
MOSCOW, July 29 In the Volgograd region, all injured passengers were removed from derailed cars, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
On Monday afternoon, on the Gremyachaya-Kotelnikovo section in the Volgograd Region, the driver of a Kamaz truck drove onto a railroad crossing against a red light and collided with passenger train No. 491 Kazan-Adler. According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, nine train cars derailed and seven cars overturned. There were 803 passengers on the train. About 140 people received abrasions and bruises. Train traffic on the section has been stopped.
«In the Volgograd region, all injured passengers have been removed from the derailed carriages. After the carriages have been installed, specialists from the Russian Emergencies Ministry, together with police and the Russian National Guard, will help passengers collect their belongings and get to the station, from where the people will take a reserve train will proceed further to the recreation areas,» the statement said.
In addition, the arrival of an emergency recovery train with a crane and heavy engineering equipment is expected in the near future, which will stabilize the overturned cars on the railway track and the surrounding area. It is noted that an airmobile group of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, consisting of 100 rescuers and two units of equipment, arrived at the site.
