MOSCOW, July 29 Avangard Omsk forward Vladimir Tkachev has been sidelined indefinitely due to injury, the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) club's website reported.
In May, the club signed a new agreement with the 28-year-old forward, which runs until 2029.
«Tkachev suffered a lower body injury during individual training. The recovery time depends on the course of rehabilitation and the individual characteristics of the body. By now, Vladimir has received the necessary amount of medical care. Losing the team leader on the eve of the start of the season is, of course, very unpleasant. However, we are not panicking, it will not help the matter in any way now. Such situations are part of professional sports, and the task of the sports block now is to find the best solution for the team,» said the club's general manager Anton Kuryanov.
Tkachev began his KHL career with Avangard in the 2013/14 season, then returned to the Omsk team in 2022. Last season, he played 58 matches in the KHL regular championship, in which he scored 75 points (20 goals + 55 assists), and also made 11 assists in 12 playoff matches.
In total, Tkachev has 453 matches and 374 (116+258) points in the KHL, where he also played for St. Petersburg SKA, Vladivostok Admiral and Ufa Salavat Yulaev.
