One of the most interesting new products of recent times that officially entered the Russian market was the M-Hero SUV from the Chinese concern Dongfeng. Later it should be joined by a pickup truck, and we decided to imagine what it would look like.
The year before last, the Dongfeng concern launched a new brand in its homeland, Mengshi, the first-born of which was an electrified SUV with the index 917. At the beginning of this year, the model reached Russia under the name M-Hero, intended for export markets. So far it exists only in the form of a classic SUV with a five-door body, but initially during the brand’s premiere it was announced that a pickup truck with a double cab would also appear. Considering that in many ways the M-Hero is made in the image and likeness of the electric SUV GMC Hummer EV, then it is quite logical to add a second body version of the American model to the range.

So far there is only a single picture of a side view of the future new product, published during the very premiere of the brand. It shows a pickup truck that looks much more like a Hummer utility vehicle than an M-Hero. We made an option made in the style of a Chinese SUV. It received a significantly increased wheelbase and a large rear overhang, while the rear door opening became even larger due to the expansion at the bottom.

The M-Hero SUV is built on a completely new modular frame platform called Mora (which stands for Mengshi Off-Road Architecture) with fully independent suspension and a rotating rear axle. In terms of dimensions, it is almost identical to the American GMC Hummer EV, the latter only has a noticeably longer wheelbase (3218 versus 2950 mm). The Chinese SUV can be fully electric with a powertrain consisting of four electric motors (one for each wheel) with a total output of 1088 hp and 1400 Nm of torque. There is also a hybrid 816-horsepower version with a 1.5 petrol engine designed to recharge a 65 kWh battery.

Today in Russia, the Chinese SUV is presented only in a hybrid version and in a single configuration, the cost of which is 14,490,000 rubles.
Recall that last year the Chinese showed another frame SUV under the Mengshi brand with a completely different design.
