MINSK, July 29 Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that he had agreed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to «close all problematic issues — both in the security councils and on government topics» by the fall. His words are quoted by the state agency BelTA.
«
"In the fall, on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State, all the most important events will be held in Minsk — both the Union Council of Ministers and the Supreme State Council. «We agreed with the President (of Russia — ed.) that by this time all problematic issues should be closed — both along the lines of the Security Councils (the agreement on security guarantees — ed.) and on government topics,» Lukashenko said.
He also announced his intention to immediately define a strategy for moving towards the goals set by the country in the SCO. Lukashenko recalled that at the SCO summit in Astana in July of this year, Belarus spoke in a new status — as a member of this organization. «We must immediately define a strategy for moving towards the goals we have set. And we must do this while the trail is still hot. Enormous prospects are opening up. First of all, additional opportunities for access to a huge market of goods and services, exchange of experience, attraction of investments, diversification of logistics and settlements, reduction of political risks,» the President of Belarus said.
