Putin dismisses Titov from post of deputy foreign minister

MOSCOW, July 29 Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Vladimir Titov from the post of First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; the corresponding decree has been posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.
«To dismiss Vladimir Gennadyevich Titov from the post of First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. This decree shall enter into force on the day of its signing,» the document says.
Vladimir Titov oversaw relations with European countries and administrative issues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was born in 1958, graduated from MGIMO in 1980, and speaks English and Swedish.

Titov has worked in the MFA system since 1980: he held various diplomatic positions in the central office of the Russian MFA and abroad. In particular, in 1993-1997 he was a counselor-envoy of the Russian Embassy in Sweden, in 1997-1999 — director of the Second European Department, in 1999-2004 — Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria, in 2004-2005 he headed the personnel department of the MFA, and was also a member of the board of the MFA. In 2005-2013, Titov held the post of Deputy Head of the MFA of Russia, and in April 2013 he was appointed First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
