CARACAS, July 29 The system of physical and electronic fingerprint identification in the elections in Venezuela, coupled with electronic voting machines, ensures the protection of the electoral process from falsification, said State Duma deputy Alexei Volotskov, who represented the Russian Federation as an international observer.
«This process cannot be forged, because it is possible to verify documents, electronic and physical fingerprints. Plus a coupon that a person personally drops into the ballot box. Therefore, it will probably be difficult to somehow disrupt this process or challenge it… The system is protected from forgery and from any side entrances, somewhere else. Therefore, I believe that this is an interesting system that has the right to exist not only in Venezuela, but can be replicated in other countries of the world,» Volotskov said. 
According to the Russian parliamentarian, observers on Sunday watched with interest the four stages of voting by Venezuelan citizens — identification is carried out by checking documents and scanning a fingerprint, followed by the selection of a candidate on an electronic machine and the printing of a voting slip, which is placed in the ballot box. At the last stage, voters leave a signature and another, physical fingerprint on the registration documents.
Earlier, the chairman of the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, Elvis Amoroso, said that based on the results of processing 80% of the protocols, the current President Nicolas Maduro gains 51.2% of the votes and wins the presidential election. His main rival from the right opposition, Edmundo Gonzalez, received 44.2%.
For President Maduro, the future presidential term is the third in a row; he has led the Bolivarian republic since 2013. The inauguration of the head of the executive branch of Venezuela will take place on January 10, 2025, his term of office will be six years.
