MOSCOW, June 29 Moscow's Basmanny Court sentenced Russian political scientist Abbas Gallyamov* in absentia to eight years in prison for disseminating fakes about the Russian Armed Forces, lawyer Alan Gamazov.
«The court sentenced Galliamov* to eight years in prison in absentia and banned him from administering Internet resources for four years,» the lawyer said.
Along with Galliamov*, Ukrainian journalist Alexander Prepodobny was sentenced in absentia to the same term, the lawyer said.
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs put Galliamov* on the wanted list in March 2023. Shortly before this, the Ministry of Justice included him in the register of foreign agents — as the department indicated, the political scientist distributed materials created by foreign agents, spoke out against the SVO, and acted as an expert on information platforms provided by foreign structures, while living outside of Russia.
