BERLIN, July 30 In Germany, security has been increased for Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy Robert Habeck (Green Party) due to threats, Welt reports, citing its own sources.
«According to Welt, Habeck's security level has been increased due to the threat that has arisen,» the publication writes.
Earlier, the politician's constituency office received a number of threats by email, in which unknown individuals threatened Habeck with violence.
In total, the politician received over 700 insults, for which he filed complaints with law enforcement agencies.
Habeck is considered the Green Party's leading contender for the post of chancellor in 2025.
