MOSCOW, July 29 The official yuan to ruble exchange rate set by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation for Tuesday rose by 12.71 kopecks to 11.8567 rubles, while the dollar exchange rate rose by 99.04 kopecks, to 86.5554 rubles, the euro — by 87.4 kopecks, to 94.1381 rubles, according to data from the Bank of Russia.
Following US sanctions on the Moscow Exchange, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation has been setting official exchange rates for the dollar and euro on business days since June 13 based on bank reports and over-the-counter trading information. At the same time, the yuan exchange rate is still determined by the market rate of the Moscow Exchange.
On June 12, the US expanded sanctions against Russia to include the Moscow Exchange. Against this background, exchange trading in dollars and euros was suspended and transferred to the over-the-counter market.
