MOSCOW, July 30 The magnetic storm that began on the morning of July 30 has died down, but the Earth's magnetosphere remains in an excited state, according to a graph on the website of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
As shown in the graph, in the period from 9:00 Moscow time to 12:00 Moscow time, the state of the magnetosphere was excited, but not powerful enough to be called even a weak (level G1) magnetic storm.
The magnetic storm began on July 30 at approximately 6:00 Moscow time and corresponded to the G1 level.
The laboratory's website also presented a forecast, according to which the magnetic storm could reach the G3 level (strong) with a 25% probability.
In addition, earlier in a conversation with the employee of the Center for Space Weather Forecasts IZMIRAN Maria Abunina did not rule out that with a negative Bz component of the magnetic field, the storm level could rise to G4 (very strong).
