A two-year-old girl found in a swamp in the Arkhangelsk region is in intensive care

In the Arkhangelsk region, a lost two-year-old girl named Sasha was found alive. She was playing in the yard of her house in the village of Beloye Ozero and suddenly disappeared. The parents were distracted for a moment and lost sight of the little one. The search began immediately.
The worried parents contacted the duty unit of the Plesetsk OMVD, and on the same day. Around 18:15, an application was submitted to search for the girl to the search and rescue squad «LizaAlert». By that time, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees were already looking for the child, and soon more than a hundred people joined them — volunteers, local residents and professional rescuers, including from Moscow.
The search began amid growing anxiety. The sky was getting darker, the temperature was falling, and time was ticking away. With each passing hour, hope for a successful outcome was fading, but the volunteers and rescuers did not give up. They searched the surrounding area, going around forests and swamps where the girl could most likely be.
The rescue occurred at 03:30. In the thick swamp where the girl was, the rescuers heard her cry: «Mom!» It was the moment when the hearts of all the participants in the operation began to beat faster. Sasha was found in a state of hypothermia, her legs were stuck in the quagmire, and she looked very tired. However, the two-year-old baby was alive.
The rescuers quickly pulled the girl out of the swamp and took her to a children's hospital. According to doctors, no serious injuries were found during the examination, which was a real miracle. Sasha was placed in intensive care for a day for observation, after which she will be transferred to the children's department. Sasha will soon return to her parents, said Governor Alexander Tsybulsky.
