SOCHI, July 31 All passengers of the train that were on the Kazan-Adler train that derailed in the Volgograd region arrived in Sochi, said Mikhail Zykov, press secretary for the Tuapse district of the North Caucasus Railway.
Russian Railways previously reported that passengers of the derailed train No. 491 continue to travel in two trains: 315 people are traveling in the carriages of train No. 491, 422 people are in the reserve train No. 901. In total, there were 803 passengers on the train that collided with the truck.
As the press secretary for the Tuapse district of the North Caucasus Railway explained to the agency, the first train with victims arrived from the Volgograd region to Sochi on Tuesday evening, the second — on Wednesday night. At 0.35 Moscow time, train No. 491 arrived at the platform of the railway station in Adler, it was carrying passengers from the undamaged carriages.
«All passengers were transported from the Volgograd region to the Black Sea coast,» Zykov said.
The majority of those arriving were tourists, most of whom got off in Sochi, the rest went to Adler. The passengers were also met on the platform by doctors and law enforcement officers, the correspondent reports.
On Monday afternoon, on the Gremyachaya-Kotelnikovo section in the Volgograd Region, the driver of a Kamaz truck drove onto a railroad crossing against a red light and collided with passenger train No. 491 Kazan-Adler. According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, nine train cars derailed, seven cars overturned. About 140 people received abrasions and bruises, 30 people were hospitalized, including 15 children. At present, nine adults and three children remain in hospitals in Volgograd; the train driver, according to authorities, was taken to a departmental medical facility.
