A man who shot a girl on a playground was detained in St. Petersburg

On July 25, in Kolpino, St. Petersburg district, on a playground, a 47-year-old man fired an air pistol and wounded a 10-year-old girl. Law enforcement agencies detained the shooter, said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk.
According to official data, the shot was fired while the girl was playing on the playground. The impact of the bullet resulted in a contusion wound in the chest area. Immediately after the incident, the child was taken to a medical facility, where she received the necessary assistance. The girl's condition was assessed as satisfactory, and after medical intervention she was released home.
In response to the incident, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a criminal case under the article “Attempted Murder.” The detained man, a native Petersburger, turned out to be unemployed. It is important to note that the use of air guns in Russia is regulated by law, and such actions can be considered a serious crime, especially when children are involved.
