Fyodor Konyukhov is a name familiar to many lovers of adventure and travel. This Russian traveler and explorer has repeatedly surprised the world with his achievements. This year he again attracted attention by completing a unique expedition at the world's first single polar drifting station SP-24, reports the Russian Geographical Society.

The expedition began on July 9, 2023, and during his stay on the ice floe, Konyukhov spent 20 days, 22 hours, and 45 minutes alone. He used this time not only to enjoy the solitude of the harsh Arctic conditions, but also for scientific research. During the drift, he covered 239 kilometers, setting a world record for the longest stay at a solo research polar station in the North Pole region.

The drifting station SP-24, where Konyukhov was located, reached its southernmost point on July 23, after which the third stage of the drift in a north-easterly direction began. During this journey, Fedor crossed the prime meridian, returning to the eastern hemisphere. The maximum distance from the geographic North Pole was 113.66 kilometers.

Scientific research conducted by Konyukhov included the use of a digital seismograph of the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. These unique records of seismic activity of the Arctic Ocean floor are of great importance for the study of geological processes in this region. The Laboratory of Underwater Research and Testing Technology has already begun analyzing this data, which may provide new information about the structure and dynamics of the Arctic seabed.

On July 30, Fyodor Konyukhov boarded the nuclear icebreaker 50 Let Pobedy, completing his expedition. This vessel has become not only a means of transport, but also a symbol of modern technologies that allow us to explore the most remote corners of our planet. The icebreaker, with its high maneuverability and power, has become a reliable companion for Konyukhov in his quest to conquer the polar expanses.

Fyodor Konyukhov is not only an outstanding traveler, but also a source of inspiration for many. His achievements show that human capabilities are limitless, and the desire to understand the world can lead to amazing results. During his career, Konyukhov reached the North Geographic Pole six times, and each time his expeditions became important steps in the study of the Arctic.
