SIMFEROPOL, July 31 Hero of Russia, candidate for senator from Crimea Yuri Nimchenko, in his first interview, which he gave, called the upcoming work in the upper house of the Russian parliament a great responsibility.
In mid-July, the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov announced that Nimchenko would hold the post of senator from the executive branch of the region. Nimchenko was awarded the title of Hero of Russia for his heroic holding of the crossing in the area of the North Crimean Canal dam in February 2022.
“»The leadership of our country gives us a chance to try ourselves in other activities. And if such an opportunity arises, you need to take advantage of it, justify the trust that is placed in you. Representing the interests of our republic when making the most important government decisions is very great responsibility. Such trust is worth a lot,” Nimchenko said.
According to him, in his message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that it is necessary to form a new political elite in the country, which will include those who have proven their devotion to the Motherland in various fields, not in word, but in deed.
«We need to clearly understand that now we are opposed by the entire collective West, led by the United States. And they are working cynically, harshly on all fronts, including in the military sphere, and in the economic, and in sphere of propaganda. They do not shy away from anything. Therefore, now, more than ever, we need to firmly hold our positions, unite and clearly understand that there is an all-out struggle for the existence of our state, for the right to live or not to live for our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will continue to strengthen our country from the inside. «- said Nimchenko.
