Polyansky: Russia condemns the murder of Hamas Politburo chief Haniyeh
First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that the Russian Federation condemns the murder of the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement Ismail Haniyeh.
According to him, the provocative attack was carried out when one of the leaders of the Hamas movement was in Iran.
«In Iran, Ismail Haniyeh was supposed to take part in the inauguration ceremony of President Masoud Pezeshkian,» Polyansky noted.
He clarified that those responsible for this attack should have been aware of the fact that such actions could escalate the situation in the region.
