The ban on the export of Russian gasoline abroad has been renewed

MOSCOW, August 1 The ban on the supply of Russian gasoline abroad was renewed on Thursday and will remain in effect in September-October.
The Russian government imposed a ban on the export of gasoline abroad, except for the EAEU countries, from March 1 for six months until September 1. However, the ban was temporarily lifted at the end of May. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak reported that the embargo would be resumed on August 1.
First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Pavel Sorokin announced on Wednesday that the decision to extend the ban had been made for September-October. At the same time, according to him, a ban on the export of diesel fuel from Russia is not required, but work will be carried out to limit the potential for export by non-producers.

Last year, the Cabinet of Ministers already imposed a ban on the export of gasoline and diesel fuel; the authorities hoped to stop the «gray» export of fuel and saturate the domestic market. «Gray» export refers to a situation where traders buy oil products at domestic market prices and sell them for export at a higher price.
