VLADIVOSTOK, August 1 The Aquatoria bath complex in Vladivostok, where eight people were injured after the ceiling collapsed, is temporarily closed, all reservations are canceled, the organization reports.
On Thursday evening, the metal ceiling structures collapsed in a bath complex over an area of about 100 square meters, the Primorsky Krai prosecutor's office reported earlier. According to the regional Investigative Committee, eight people were hospitalized as a result. A criminal case has been opened for providing unsafe services. A source familiar with the situation reported that a 14-year-old teenager was also among the victims.
«The administration of the water complex extremely regrets what happened… Until all necessary actions are completed, the water complex will be closed, and existing reservations will be canceled,» the complex's Telegram channel said.
According to «Akvatoriya», at 21:15 (14:15 Moscow time), elements of the slatted suspended ceiling on the minus second floor of the building partially collapsed.
«They are decorative and have nothing to do with the structure of the building,» the organization added.
Earlier, a source said that three victims were in serious condition. Another source of the agency reported that the probable cause of the collapse could have been defects in the fastening of the structures.
