MOSCOW, August 2 The Simbirsk Design Bureau (SKB) «Piranha» has developed a new FPV drone for remote mining, which will cut off enemy supply routes, the company reported.
«The drone is intended to a greater extent for mining, and it must cope with this task effectively: in 24 hours, it is possible to cut off all enemy supply routes within a radius of 10 kilometers,» said the company representative.
According to him, the functionality of the improved drone has been significantly expanded compared to previous developments due to its carrying capacity: the new Piranha-13 drone can carry a payload of up to 15 kilograms, while the previous versions — Piranha-7 and Piranha-10 — can carry up to 2.5 and 5 kilograms, respectively. In this regard, they were not used for mining, since the average weight of a mine is 9 kilograms.
The deliveries of new UAVs to the SVO zone began recently, and they are currently being produced in small batches due to the complicated production process. However, the company is already increasing their production.
