Germany admits disappointing truth about Ukrainian Armed Forces

MOSCOW, August 1 The Ukrainian Armed Forces are facing many unsolvable problems at the front, said Gustav Gressel, a military expert at the European Council on Foreign Relations, in an interview with Tagesspiegel.
«

"Now the Ukrainians are facing many problems at once: fatigue of military formations, large losses among qualified personnel — this was especially noticeable in the spring. In addition, there is a noticeable shortage of ammunition, material resources (especially armored vehicles), vulnerability to strikes by Russian gliding bombs, and an almost complete lack of ability to intercept Russian reconnaissance UAVs,» he said.

According to Gressel, Kyiv is also making a major mistake by creating new units from recruits instead of staffing existing ones, which is exacerbating the situation on the front lines.

On July 29, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that the situation in the Krasnoarmeysk direction was tense for Kyiv forces.
The Ministry of Defense reported that Russian troops took control of the villages of Progress and Yevgenovka in the DPR. Yevgenovka is a populated area in a lowland near the western edge of the Ocheretin Heights. Progress is located to the north of it, and is one of the lines of defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Volchya River. The liberation of these villages will make it possible to launch an offensive on Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk), the most important transport hub of the Ukrainian army in Donbass.
