In the new generation, the sedan of the American brand will grow noticeably and will cease to be a budget car. A full presentation will be held in the near future.
The fresh four-door Dodge Attitude has already been caught in Mexico. Moreover, the new generation model was even shown on local TV: it was raffled off in one of the reality shows. But only now the brand has officially announced the sedan — the first teaser has been published. Let us remind you that the previous Attitude is a clone of the pre-reform Mitsubishi Mirage/Attrage sedan, the American brand model is sold exclusively on the Mexican market. The new four-door is also not an independent development of Dodge, only now it will change both the donor and the market positioning. Thus, the next Attitude will be a larger «Chinese» GAC Trumpchi Empow, which has been produced since 2021. By the way, the sedan will be the second Dodge model “borrowed” from GAC: in the same Mexico, almost three years ago, the Journey crossover appeared, that is, a slightly restyled GAC Trumpchi GS5.

The new Dodge Attitude is based on the global Empow with a sports body kit (in China, the four-door GAC recently underwent a restyling). The only significant difference in terms of design is the mesh radiator grille, while the «Chinese» has twin vertical wedges at the front. And of course, the emblems and nameplates were replaced.

The dimensions, if not exactly the same, are obviously very close. The length of the Chinese original is 4700 mm, width — 1850 mm, height — 1432 mm. The wheelbase is 2736 mm. For comparison, the length of the previous Dodge Attitude is 4245 mm, the distance between the axles is 2550 mm. The new sedan will compete with the Hyundai Elantra and Volkswagen Jetta.

Inside, the new Attitude also repeated the GAC model, that is, customers will be offered cars with a scoreboard. The list of equipment will probably also include modern assistants: adaptive cruise control, automatic braking systems, lane keeping and road sign recognition. The old Dodge Attitude cannot boast such equipment.

The engine was probably carried over from the Empow — it is a 1.5 gasoline turbo four with a capacity of 170 hp. At the same time, instead of a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, Mexican media predict a classic six-speed automatic for the Dodge sedan. The previous Attitude is available with a three-cylinder naturally aspirated 1.2 (76 hp), which works in tandem with a five-speed manual or CVT.
The full premiere of the new generation Dodge Attitude should take place in the near future. The sedan will definitely be more expensive than the outgoing compact, which now costs from 275,400 pesos (approximately 1.25 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
