An explosion rocked the Nurburgring race track in Germany, injuring dozens of people
An explosion occurred at the German Nürburgring race track, Suddeutsche Zeitung reports.
A gas cylinder exploded in the paddock during the ADAC Ruhr Cup endurance race. Service personnel cordoned off the scene. The six-hour race was interrupted. An investigation is underway.
Several injured people were taken by helicopter to nearby hospitals after receiving emergency care at the Nürburgring medical center.
According to Suddeutsche Zeitung, 22 people were injured in the explosion on the track (four of them were seriously injured).
