«Marem»: Relatives beat up a girl who tried to break off communication with them and took her from Moscow to Dagestan

Relatives took Aishat Magomedova, who was trying to break off contact with them, from her apartment in Moscow and took her to Kizilyurt in Dagestan. This was reported by the human rights project «Marem».

According to the girl, she was beaten and humiliated since childhood. She was allowed to study in Moscow only under the supervision of two relatives. Due to constant monitoring, Magomedova decided to leave home.

Ayshat wrote to her mother: «I don't need anyone else's opinion regarding my actions, since I am an adult and we all live by the laws of the Russian Federation. There is no need to look for ways to interact with me, because it will lead to nothing. I am not asking you for any financial or psychological support, I don't need anything from you. All I expect is understanding and acceptance… I am fine. No one kidnapped me. I have every opportunity to live this life the way I want. Sometimes I will get in touch so that you know that I am fine.» According to human rights activists, Magomedova's relatives recently knocked down her door, and the day before her mother, father and aunt «broke into» a rented apartment in Moscow, where the girl lived with a friend.

According to her friend, her relatives pushed Ayshat onto the bed and beat her on the face, stomach, and arms. Screams can be heard in the video from the apartment that Magomedova's friend sent to «Marem.» After the beating, the relatives took the girl's passport and took her to Kizilyurt. Human rights activists know that she is currently at home with her family. They are planning to file a report of kidnapping with the police.

Magomedova's friend and her lawyer have already contacted the police department for the Lyublino district of Moscow. They showed a police officer named Natalya a video showing bruises on Magomedova's face and arms. However, the officer replied that «there will be no point [in reporting the kidnapping].»

«These are your customs, these are her parents, the girl went on a spree and they brought her home. They conducted an investigation, well, the bruises, maybe they were teaching her a lesson. She probably wasn’t a good student… We’ll send an order to Dagestani officers to question her and we’ll get a survey that she’s okay,” the girl’s friend recounted the police officer’s response.
