MOSCOW, August 2 A criminal case has been opened against a man who hit a 10-year-old schoolgirl on an electric bicycle in the west of Moscow, according to the Telegram channel of the RF IC .
Earlier, the press service of the capital's main police department reported that the police detained a man who hit a 10-year-old girl on a scooter with an electric bicycle in the southwest of Moscow; the child was taken to hospital with injuries. 
«The Nikulinsky interdistrict investigative department of the Investigative Department for the Western Administrative District of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 268 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules ensuring the safe operation of transport),» the statement says.
In addition, the investigators of the Investigative Committee established that the culprit was a 23-year-old citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In the near future, he will be taken to the investigative department, where investigators will begin interrogating him.
«A set of investigative and procedural actions is being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident, the necessary forensic examinations are being appointed, witnesses of the incident are being questioned,» the statement also says.
