The founder of the company was Andrei Andrianovsky, the director of a large industrial company, Modern Technologies of Mechanical Engineering, which is a significant player in the market for the production of units for mining engineering. In fact, Optomonitoring's line of business was similar: scientific and technical support for monitoring oil and gas wells.
In November 2021, Ionov was detained. According to investigators, he spent 1.6 million rubles on personal needs, which were allocated to him as travel funds. The adviser to the general director wrote a confession. The witnesses at the trial were senior employees of Optomonitoring, including Savva Savelyev. As a result, the Presnensky Court sentenced him to 3 years in prison. However, the appellate court reduced the term by six months.
