The family of Dmitry Savelyev, a senator from the Tula region, who was detained on Friday, was preparing for his birthday at the time of his arrest. On Saturday, August 3, the politician will turn 56 years old.
According to the publication, the senator’s wife and children went to buy him a gift.
Previously, Savelyev’s wife Olga told subscribers on social networks about her plans for preparations for the celebration.
She said that the family had gone out to buy gifts for dad.
Earlier, the wife of someone detained on Friday in Moscow on suspicion of organizing the contract killing of Federation Council member Dmitry Savelyev said, that her husband warned her about imminent problems and asked her not to come to Russia for now from abroad, where their children are studying.
The senator’s wife said that she did not even imagine that this was connected with a criminal case. She also called the incident a “misunderstanding” and suggested that her husband could have been framed.
