WASHINGTON, August 2The United States has extended permission for transactions with the Moscow Exchange, the National Clearing Center and the National Settlement Depository, follows from the published license of the US Ministry of Finance.
“All transactions prohibited by Executive Order (E.O.) 14024 that occur in the ordinary course and are necessary to terminate transactions involving one or more of the following blocked persons are permitted until October 12, 2024,” the document states.
Resolution applies to transactions with the Moscow Exchange, NCC, NSD and their subsidiaries. In accordance with the initial decision, the transaction had to be wound up by August 13.

Washington imposed sanctions against the Moscow Exchange, the National Clearing Center and the National Settlement Depository in June. As follows from the press release of the US Treasury, this is being done to prevent Moscow from attracting capital from “friendly countries” through these institutions. In addition, foreign financial institutions warned that the risks of being subject to secondary sanctions are increasing.
