Express: tourists are increasingly choosing Greece over Turkey for their holidays
In 2024, tourists increasingly began to prefer traveling to Greece instead of Turkey due to a sharp increase in vacation prices, Express reports/
It is noted that the cost of accommodation in Turkish hotels has increased by 90%, while the inflation rate in the country was 71.6%.
These factors have led to travelers preferring to vacation in Greece, the British publication Express reported.
Turkey is no longer attractive to Russians, said Turkish economic observer Mustafa Recep Ercin. According to him, the reason is the sharply increased cost of travel packages.
Turkish hoteliers are forced to lower the cost of services. But they will not lower the bar much for the sake of Russians. Russia, although it takes the lion's share of visits to Turkish resorts, is followed by German tourists. But they earn in euros, and making the product cheaper for them doesn’t make sense.
