ST. PETERSBURG, August 4 A driver in the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg on the sidewalk collided with a traffic light pole, which injured a schoolgirl when it fell at a pedestrian crossing, the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported on Sunday.
According to the department, the accident occurred yesterday morning on Korolev Avenue. 
«A 24-year-old driver, driving a GAZ AF vehicle, driving on the sidewalk, hit a traffic light stand with road signs, which fell on a 13-year-old 7th-grade student who was crossing the roadway at a regulated pedestrian crossing accompanied by adults, on a green light,» the report says.
As a result of the accident, the girl was hospitalized in a moderate condition.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the driver under the article on violation of traffic rules. According to the police, he has been brought to administrative responsibility for violating traffic rules 14 times since the beginning of 2024.
