CNN: In Ukraine, denunciations were written against Russian athletes so that they would not be allowed to participate in the Olympics
Ukraine has done everything it can to disqualify Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the Paris Olympics, CNN reports.
The TV channel's report states that Ukrainian journalist Artem Khudoleyev sent dozens of emails to the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports of Ukraine with reports on the position of Russian and Belarusian athletes on the SVO.
He selected promising athletes who had won medals at previous Olympic Games and were nominated to participate in the competitions in Paris, and analyzed their accounts. According to his calculations, there were about 600 such athletes supporting the SVO in Ukraine.
In an interview with the publication, Khudoleev said that the 2020 Olympic champions, taekwondo athletes Maksim Khramtsov and Vladislav Larin, did not go to Paris thanks to him.
Next, the Ukrainian journalist intends to focus on the 2026 Winter Olympics, where, in his opinion, «there should be no place for Russian and Belarusian athletes» who support the special military operation in Ukraine.
