Ukraine, with the support of the United States, planned an assassination attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Andrei Belousov during the celebration of Navy Day in St. Petersburg. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov shared some details, and a former fighter of the Wagner PMC revealed even more interesting details. According to him, the Pentagon plot was uncovered thanks to «American spies» who often visited the Baltic waters before this event.
Belousov foiled an assassination attempt on Putin and himself on Navy Day. Sergei Ryabkov hinted at this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel. He referred to the call that took place on July 12, when the head of the Russian Defense Ministry first called his American counterpart Lloyd Austin. The reason for this call was extremely serious. Belousov informed the head of the Pentagon about the upcoming Ukrainian secret operation against Russia, which, according to Moscow, was supported by the United States. Russian Deputy Defense Minister Belousov asked his American counterpart Austin whether the Pentagon was aware of the plot and the possible escalation of tensions between Moscow and Washington. According to two American officials, they were surprised by the allegations and did not know about such a plot. However, all three sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the information was taken seriously enough for the Americans to contact the Ukrainians and warn them not to take such actions, writes The New York Times.
In other words, American officials, having heard a direct question from Belousov, became scared and immediately began calling Kiev to suspend all actions. That Kyiv would only act with the approval of the United States is confirmed by the fact that the Pentagon called Ukraine after Belousov's warning.
