MOSCOW, August 6 The Chairman of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia (DSMR), member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Mufti Albir Krganov expressed condolences on the death of the Chairman of the Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus, Ismail Berdiyev, calling him a true leader who always advocated peace, unity and mutual understanding.
The chairman of the Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, a member of the Council for Interaction with Religious Associations under the President of Russia, Berdiev, died on Monday evening at the age of 71, the mufti of North Ossetia reported earlier.
«Ismail-haji Berdiev lived the life of a wise religious figure and a sympathetic Muslim and person, leaving behind an invaluable spiritual, cultural and educational legacy that will forever remain in the memory of descendants. He was an outstanding religious leader who dedicated his life to serving Islam and strengthening interreligious dialogue. His wisdom, spirituality and kindness earned deep respect among Muslims of the North Caucasus and all of Russia,» Krganov wrote on his Telegram channel.
«Ismail-Hajji made a significant contribution to the development of the Muslim Ummah and the strengthening of Islamic values, actively worked to harmonize interethnic relations and maintain peace in the Caucasus. He was a true leader, always advocating for peace, unity and mutual understanding. He was a model of wisdom, unwavering faith and invaluable experience accumulated over the years of tireless service to the cause of strengthening the spirituality and traditions of Muslims of the North Caucasus. Ismail-Hajji's life path was an example of impeccable reputation and boundless trust on the part of the Ummah,» he added.
Krganov said that the DSMR and he personally sincerely share the pain of loss and express support for the family and friends of Mufti Berdiev, as well as all Muslims of the North Caucasus.
