ST. PETERSBURG, August 6 In St. Petersburg, polling station No. 1592 was named after Grigory Chubko, it became the first in the city to bear the name of the hero of the SVO, the chairman of the city election commission Maxim Meiksin reported on the Telegram channel.
«Today, at a meeting of the St. Petersburg election commission, a decision was made to name polling station No. 1592 after Grigory Vyacheslavovich Chubko. In St. Petersburg, this will be the first polling station to bear the name of the hero of the SVO,» Meiksin reported.
Grigory Chubko has headed the precinct election commission No. 1592 since 2020. «Like many caring Petersburgers, he could not stand aside and went to the front as a volunteer. In March 2023, Grigory Vyacheslavovich died during a special military operation,» Meiksin said.
For courage, bravery and dedication shown in the performance of his military duty, Grigory Chubko was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.
