MOSCOW, August 7 The evacuation of Russian citizens from Bangladesh is not planned due to the fact that the situation in the country is normalizing, the Russian Embassy in Dhaka reported on its Telegram channel.
«The situation in the country is stabilizing. The army has taken on the responsibility of maintaining order and protecting private and state property. There are no tasks to evacuate Russian citizens, including specialists working at the Rooppur NPP construction site,» the publication said.
The statement also stated that compatriots who believe that their continued stay in Bangladesh poses a threat to their lives and health can leave the country by purchasing air tickets either through travel agents or directly from airline offices. The embassy noted that Dhaka International Airport is operating normally.
«We would like to draw your attention to the fact that some Telegram channels dedicated to life and events in Bangladesh often publish unverified information, as well as opinions of dubious «experts». We assume that this is done to attract the attention of readers and escalate tensions. Therefore, we urge you to trust only the information published on the official Internet resources of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh,» the statement emphasizes.
