ULAN-UDE, August 7 Traffic on a section of the federal highway R-258 «Baikal» in Buryatia has opened for all types of transport, the press service of the regional government reported.
«On the section 555 — 590 km of the R-258 «Baikal» Irkutsk — Ulan-Ude — Chita (Republic of Buryatia, Khonkholoy settlement) road, traffic is open for all types of transport,» the statement says. 
The Ministry of Transport of the Republic clarified that on the bridge over the rivers Tugnui (km 543) and Khonkholoyka (km 589) transport can travel in both directions, on the bridge over the Suhara (km 555) in reverse mode.
In Buryatia, a republican-level emergency regime has been introduced due to the difficult flood situation in three districts — Tarbagataisky, Zaigraevsky, Mukhorshibirsky. Due to the break of the dam on the Khonkholoi reservoir in the Mukhorshibirsky district of the republic and the flooding of the federal road R-258 «Baikal», on August 1, the movement of all types of vehicles was closed in the section from the 543rd to the 590th km. Three bridges were damaged by the flood — across the rivers Tugnui at km 543, Sukhara at km 555, and Khonkholoyka at km 589. Detours were organized.
