Kots said that a local resident picked up and took the wounded war correspondent Poddubny
Russian military correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny, who was wounded in an FPV drone strike, was picked up by a local resident who was evacuating from Sudzha and taken to the hospital. This was reported by Poddubny's colleague, military correspondent Alexander Kots KP.
According to the information, when this man was leaving Sudzha, he noticed a human body on the road. He dragged the wounded Poddubny into his car and took him to a temporary aid station — the war correspondent probably fell out of the car after it overturned from the explosion.
«He was trying to get out and was moving, the man saw him, stopped and put him in his car,» said a volunteer medic with the call sign «Grandfather», who then took Poddubny to a full-fledged hospital.
Throughout the entire journey, Poddubny was conscious and could speak, although his speech was slurred, so the doctors did not immediately recognize him as the famous war correspondent. The journalist's first request was to call his wife to let her know that he was alive.
Alexander Kots turned to his subscribers and colleagues on social networks with a request to help find a resident of Sudzha who actually saved the life of Yevgeny Poddubny.
Earlier, volunteer Andrei Yevteyev, who delivered the wounded VGTRK war correspondent in the Kursk region to doctors, reported that the journalist remained conscious throughout the entire trip.
