
WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 Canada will soon adopt new F-35 fighter jets, patrol aircraft and warships, Defense Minister Bill Blair said.
«As Canada rebuilds its core fleet, new second-generation F-35 fighters, patrol aircraft, and warships based on the BAS Type 26 design will soon be inducted,» he said at a news conference. 
According to Blair, all future weapons will be platforms that are planned to be used jointly with Australia.
He also said that the authorities of the two countries intend to conduct joint military exercises to improve the compatibility and skill set of their armed forces.
«In addition, Canada and Australia will continue to strengthen cooperation and develop capabilities in cyberspace, as well as science and technology,» the minister added.
