Novak appointed first deputy head of the commission on increasing economic sustainability

MOSCOW, August 9 Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has appointed Alexander Novak as the first deputy chairman of the commission on increasing the sustainability of the Russian economy under sanctions; its composition has been updated in accordance with the changes in the Cabinet of Ministers, the government's Telegram channel reported.
«Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to change the composition of the government commission on increasing the sustainability of the Russian economy in the context of sanctions and its subcommittee on increasing the sustainability of the financial sector and individual sectors of the economy… Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has been appointed first deputy chairman of the commission and head of the subcommittee,» the statement said.

Previously, this post was held by former First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov, who headed the Russian Ministry of Defense in May.

«The commission includes: Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut, Transport Minister Roman Starovoit, Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maria Bagreeva,” the Cabinet also reported.
In addition, Alikhanov, Lut, Starovoit and Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev are included in the subcommittee on increasing the stability of the financial sector and individual sectors of the economy.
The government commission to increase the stability of the Russian economy under sanctions has been working since 2018. In 2020, it was headed by Mishustin, and in 2022 its work was transferred to the operational headquarters mode.
