MOSCOW, August 9 US Vice President Kamala Harris is ahead of former US leader Donald Trump in terms of support from Americans, according to the results of a poll by Ipsos, Reuters reports.
According to the results of the study, Harris's level of support is 42%, while Trump's figure is estimated at only 37%. Another 4% of respondents expressed their support for independent candidate Robert Kennedy Jr.
In addition, the survey showed that the gap between the rivals in the upcoming US presidential election has increased compared to the previous study, which was conducted at the end of July. Then Harris was supported by 37% of Americans, Trump — 34%, and Kennedy Jr. — 10%.
The poll was conducted from August 2 to 7, and 2,045 adult Americans took part. The margin of error for the results was 3 percentage points.
The US presidential election will be held on November 5. Trump has been officially nominated for the post of head of state by the Republican Party. The current Vice President Harris plans to participate in the elections from the Democrats, but she has yet to receive the formal nomination from the party at the upcoming convention in Chicago.
