On August 2, 2024, the official presentation of the annual national Award «SUV OF THE YEAR 2024» was successfully held in the new space of the «4×4 Club» — «Hangar 44» in Peredelkino.
«SUV of the Year» is an annual national Award that is presented to the best models in the most popular segment of the Russian automobile market. The Award was established in 2005 by the magazine «Club 4×4» and is one of the main events of the automobile industry. The best SUVs in ten nominations are chosen by two juries: Expert and Grand (people's jury). This division allows for an objective expert assessment and to study the preferences of Russian motorists. The juries vote independently of each other.
At the presentation, the program of events was announced to the auto business, market leaders, the media community and the Award partners, the situation in the automobile market and the latest trends were discussed, nominations for voting and the composition of the updated expert jury of the competition were announced.

The results of the voting by the Expert and Grand Juries will be known by September 19, 2024, when the Award ceremony will take place in the new space of the 4×4 Club – Hangar 44 in Peredelkino; the voting is already halfway through, and the organizers have received preliminary results of the Grand Jury's selection in each of the 10 nominations.
The Award Organizing Committee conducted test drives of the voting leaders in the mid-size crossover segment: Jetour T2 and Geely Monjaro.

We inform you about the upcoming events of the Award, which will be attended by representatives of the nominated brands, members of the Expert Jury, partners of the Award and the 4×4 Club, journalists and bloggers:
- August 14 – Large (mass) test drive, which will take place on asphalt and dirt roads of the Kaluga and Moscow regions, historically associated with the sites of the battles of 1812; dirt roads and overcoming small water obstacles will be available (if weather conditions permit);
- August 27 – educational seminar “Quality Issues of Chinese Cars”. Maxim Rakitin, Chairman of the Expert Jury of the Award, Editor-in-Chief of the online automobile publication Quto.ru (part of Rambler&Co): “Chinese cars make up a huge share of the market today. We all remember when Chinese cars appeared on the market, the attitude towards them due to the build quality and consumer properties was negative. Today, the dynamics are mind-boggling: what European manufacturers managed to do in 10 years, the Chinese auto industry does in a year. The quality of cars has grown exponentially, but the problem of consumer attitudes towards products of brands from the Middle Kingdom remains relevant. As part of the seminar, our task is to convey to the consumer that in many safety technologies and consumer qualities, Chinese cars today are superior to their classmates made in Europe and Asia. We will talk about approaches to production, cooperation with component manufacturers, safety and reliability. The socially significant result of this seminar will be information materials for consumers, which in many aspects will be called upon to debunk the myths of “Chinese quality” and give consumers objective data for choosing a car.”
