NALCHIK, August 9 Two cars collided on Friday afternoon on a highway in Ingushetia, injuring eight people, including two children, the republic's Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergencies reported.
“At 16.14 Moscow time on Friday, a report was received about a traffic accident in the village of Kantyshevo. Upon arrival at the scene, it was established that there had been a collision between two cars: a Lada Kalina and a VAZ-2114,” the message says. 
< br />According to the ministry, eight people were injured in the accident, two of them children.
«The injured were hospitalized in the Ingush Republican Clinical Hospital in the city of Nazran. The causes and circumstances of the incident are being established,» the ministry noted.
The regional prosecutor's office reported that it is conducting an investigation into the accident involving minors. «The prosecutor's office, in the course of supervision, will clarify all the circumstances of the incident, the causes and conditions that contributed to them, and will also assess compliance with the requirements of the legislation on road safety and the legislation on the protection of the rights of minors,» the department said.
According to the prosecutor's office, the injured children were born in 2013 and 2015.
