Dangerous mobile applications can be divided into five types: «gray software» that request too many accesses and administrator rights, use special features, and phishing, he explained.
In each specific case, it is important to assess the developer's reputation, check security certificates and privacy policy. Applications should only be downloaded from official stores or company websites. When installing, use antivirus software, check access rights and keep your logins and passwords secret, warns Chernenko.
If a dangerous application has nevertheless crept in, delete it immediately, disable Internet access and put your smartphone into safe mode. After that, use an antivirus, and if you can't clean it, reset your phone to factory settings, he advises.
