Ukrainian military officials report that units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, created from former prisoners.
As reported by the Ukrainian publication «Strana» on its Telegram channel, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign «Alex» reported that former convicts are taking part in the battles in the Kursk region on the Ukrainian side.
«They carry out their assigned tasks without any problems,» the publication quotes the words of the officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
However, Kyiv has not officially confirmed this information.
Recall that in mid-June, The Washington Post reported that more than 2,750 Ukrainian convicts had entered military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, in the first wave, the Ukrainian authorities were going to mobilize 4 thousand prisoners from colonies and prisons into the army under the parole mechanism.
