Investigative Committee: Mayor of Inta in Komi arrested in abuse of power case
The Investigative Committee reported the arrest of the mayor of the city of Inta in Komi. It is reported that Vladimir Kiselev has become a defendant in a criminal case on abuse of office.
According to the investigation, in 2022, the accused instructed the head of the housing and utilities department to prepare auction documentation for road repair contracts in order to transfer the order to a specific organization. As a result, 18 municipal contracts were concluded for a total of more than 75.5 million rubles. An advance payment of 31 million rubles was transferred to the contractor, but the work was never completed. It is indicated that the organization unilaterally refused to fulfill the contracts, but did not return the advance payment.
The court issued a decision on the measure of restraint and placed the accused under arrest.
The Investigative Committee reported that the investigation is currently continuing to collect evidence.
