MOSCOW, August 11 Russian T-72B3M tank crews are working to destroy mobile armored groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the border area of the Kursk region, the Russian Defense Ministry told journalists, publishing footage of the combat work of the crews of these tanks.
«Tank units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have taken up firing positions in tank-hazardous directions and are destroying mobile armored groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the border area of the Kursk Region,» the Defense Ministry said.
In the video shown by the department, the T-72B3M inflicts fire damage on combat equipment and manpower of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In the footage, tank units of the Russian Armed Forces take up firing positions in tank-hazardous directions and destroy mobile armored groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the border area of the Kursk Region.
During combat operations, tank crews fire at the enemy both with direct fire and from closed firing positions — behind the terrain or in shelters, as follows from the video. This allows them to remain undetected, the Ministry of Defense clarified.
Fire adjustment is carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles. After firing, tank crews change positions to prevent return fire from enemy artillery or attacks on tanks by kamikaze drones.
«For this case, combat vehicles are equipped with a powerful modern protection system, which includes electronic warfare systems and enhanced dynamic protection,» the department clarified.
Additional security for the tank crews is provided by a cover group: motorized riflemen monitor the airspace and are ready to confront enemy groups if they appear nearby, the press service of the Ministry of Defense added.
The successful completion of tasks is also facilitated by comprehensive and timely provision of ammunition, fuel and lubricants, and equipment. As tankers say, all necessary parts, spare parts, and ammunition are available. Everything that is needed is delivered promptly and on time, the crew members told the Defense Ministry.
