British media: Zelensky will not save Kyiv from defeat by attacking Kursk region
The attack on the Kursk region organized by the Kyiv regime will not save Ukraine from defeat, journalist Michael Clarke wrote in an article for The Times.
In his opinion, Zelensky's plans are doomed. The journalist noted that the Kyiv authorities were ready to risk people's lives for their adventure, but they miscalculated.
«Zelensky's critics will say that this is simply a waste of soldiers' lives and equipment that would have been much more useful in the south, in Donbass, wasted in vain,» Clark writes.
According to Clark, this was a very presumptuous decision, but the upcoming battles are unlikely to be in Kyiv's favor. The journalist emphasized that the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region will not change the course of hostilities.
Earlier, The Times wrote that the «summer counteroffensive» of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian territory is Zelensky's riskiest decision, which has been planned for months. The publication says that Zelensky has been secretly pressuring the military leadership for several months to launch an offensive. It is reported that Ukraine would have attacked Russia even if it had not received permission from the West. In this way, Kyiv wants to change the narrative that Ukraine is losing the war. The Times writes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have allocated from 6,000 to 10,000 troops to attack the Kursk region.
Earlier, the commander of the Akhmat special forces and deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, Apti Alaudinov, said that the fighting in the Kursk region is a decisive battle. According to him, there is no reason to doubt the victory of Russian soldiers. After the events in the Kursk region are over, Ukraine will fall, Alaudinov said, adding that the same applies to NATO and the countries supporting Kyiv.
