MOSCOW, August 12 In the Savelovsky district, 1.5 kilometers of the gas pipeline were reconstructed, according to the official website of the mayor and government of Moscow.
“In the Savelovsky district, 1.5 kilometers of gas pipeline were reconstructed. New polyethylene pipes will replace outdated steel ones, which were laid between Nizhnyaya Maslovka and 2nd Kvesisskaya streets in the last century. Specialists from the Moscow municipal services complex continue to modernize outdated gas pipelines in the Northern Administrative District. Work began in January 2024,» the message says. 
It is noted that 1.5 thousand meters have already been updated, which is more than 80 percent of the total volume of work. The total length of the facility is 1.8 thousand meters. The new gas pipelines have already been connected to the existing capital network.
It is specified that the new high-strength polyethylene pipes are resistant to corrosion, temperature changes and exposure to chemicals, they will last more than 40 years.
The work is carried out using open laying and closed crossings, which allows for traffic to be avoided.
«The Moscow City Services Complex reminded that the reconstruction of low- and medium-pressure gas pipelines between Leningradskoe Shosse and Belomorskaya Street has already been completed,» the publication also said.
