MOSCOW, August 11 The financial situation of half of Americans has worsened during Joe Biden's presidency, according to a survey conducted by the Financial Times and the Michigan Ross Business School at the University of Michigan.
When asked how the respondents' financial situation has changed since Biden became president in 2021, 50% of respondents said it has worsened. Only 19% believe that their financial situation has improved under the current head of the White House.
The survey also shows that 73% of Americans have a negative assessment of economic conditions in the United States. Only a quarter (25%) of respondents gave them a positive assessment.
The poll was conducted online from August 1-5 among 1,001 registered voters. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.
The US presidential election will be held on November 5. Donald Trump has been officially nominated by the Republican Party for the post of head of state. The Democratic nominee is incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris, who has yet to receive the formal nomination from the party at the upcoming convention in Chicago later in August.
