KUBINKA (Moscow region), August 12, The Russian defense industry complex has become even stronger under the conditions of colossal sanctions pressure, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said at the opening of the Army-2024 forum.
«An example of this is the entire exhibition display that is presented at this forum. All the promising models that have already proven themselves in the SVO are presented. Among them, of course, are operational-tactical and anti-aircraft, anti-tank missile systems, the latest artillery systems of various calibers, multiple launch rocket systems, close combat and electronic warfare systems, multifunctional drones and much, much more,» he said.
The minister noted that since the beginning of the special operation, it has been possible to increase weapons production several times.
«I will not cover the entire range, but, for example, production of tanks has increased almost seven and a half times since the beginning of the conflict. For lightly armored infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, and airborne combat vehicles, it has increased more than four and a half times. For precision weapons, it has increased three times. For ammunition for barrel artillery, it has increased 15 times. For aerial bombs, it has increased 55 times,» Alikhanov added.
In addition, the level of interaction between industry and the Ministry of Defense has changed dramatically for the better — now general designers, engineers, and technologists have the opportunity to communicate with department heads and improve models based on the real needs of those who use them, the minister emphasized.
«Even the most popular innovations used to take years to implement. <…> Now our colleagues have significantly simplified their procedures, removed excessive bureaucracy, and the achievements of engineering thought are embodied in samples in months. We call this mechanism operational experimental design work. And if we sum them up with minor modifications, then the industry has already implemented more than eight thousand improvements since the beginning of the SVO,» he said.
Alikhanov thanked the teams of enterprises and everyone who works in the military-industrial complex for their patriotism, responsible work and professionalism.
The Army-2024 forum is being held in the Patriot Park near Moscow from August 12 to 14.
