The updated models of the Japanese brand have a different appearance; in addition, the Proace Verso has been equipped with a larger-capacity battery and an increased range on a single charge.
Toyota launched the current Proace Verso model in 2016. Its closest relatives are the Peugeot Traveller, Citroen Spacetourer and Opel Vivaro Life (all three brands belong to the auto giant Stellantis). The «smaller» version of the Proace City Verso (its relatives include the Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Rifter and Opel Combo Life) appeared in 2019. All-electric modifications joined the lineup in November 2020. Now the «green» versions have undergone an update and entered the European market.

Toyota Proace Verso and Proace City Verso have been updated in line with their current relatives from Peugeot and Citroen. The Japanese brand's commercial electric vehicles differ from their «donors» due to their differently designed bumpers and branding. The models have LED running lights that emphasize the shape of the headlights, a plug in place of the traditional radiator grille, and a large air intake in the lower part of the front bumper.
The refreshed Proace Verso is available in two body sizes – L1 and L2 (length – 4983 and 5333 mm respectively), configurations with seven, eight and nine seats for passengers are available. The smaller Proace City Verso model also has different size modifications – L1 and L2, while the first version has only five seats, and the extended version is designed for seven.

The Proace Verso EV comes with 17-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, an infotainment system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and a 10-inch touchscreen, air conditioning, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, a heated driver's seat, push-button engine start, wireless smartphone charging, a panoramic roof and folding tables.
The more expensive version includes electric sliding side doors with an opening sensor, as well as leather upholstery, tinted rear windows, memory for the driver's seat settings, a massage function, a rear-view camera, a 180-degree viewing function, and an improved sound system.
The equipment of the refreshed «van» Toyota Proace City Verso, in addition to the same multimedia, includes: a set of original 16-inch alloy wheels, an electronic parking brake, a function for automatically switching headlights from high to low beam, roof rails, bumpers in body color, and a rear view camera.
During the update, the Toyota Proace Verso EV received a traction battery with a capacity of 75 kW * h, as a result of which the range on one charge of this commercial electric vehicle increased from 230 to 344 km. Recharging from 10 to 80% takes 45 minutes. At the same time, the Proace City Verso retained the same 50 kWh battery, and its range has not changed either — 343 km without recharging. This battery can be replenished from 10 to 80% in the same 30 minutes.
Toyota dealers in Europe have already started accepting orders for the updated Proace Verso and Proace City Verso, with the first deliveries of fully electric vans scheduled for next month.
